 HISTORY

The Sevincer Animation Festival, was co-founded in 2004

 by Caglayan Sevincer,

Story About Caglayan

                   Rolf Parker and

   Cynthia Houghton.

The MISSION of the festival

 is

to have

 as

much

 fun

as is humanly possible before we die

of ripe old age, finding excellent animations from around

North America,

Turkey,

and

anywhere else we can

          find

                             them,

and

to screen them each year in front of a paying audience of animation lovers who are asked to write

comments

on their ballots

 for every animation

 (including yours?)  including yours!

Just make sure it's more interesting than a bunch of fish swimming endlessly in a bowl.

Don't you wanna know

what the audience was thinking?

We send animators the audience's collated comments.

YOU Send us DVD Submissions

Do not send any fee, yuck no!

A Real Quote from a real live winning animator

"  Just got the trophy in the mail today and I have to say it's awesome! Thanks so much - it's a great reminder of the festival and  an inspiration to keep making work.
See you next year, I hope!"

Animations by young people are actively sought for a screening that is supplemental to the main event. The primary purpose of this is to encourage young people from Vermont to create short animations (5 minutes or less), by providing a venue where their films can be seen.

Part of the philosophy of the Sevincer Animation Festival dictates that there is

no entrance fee for film makers, and that 50% of the profits from the festival are always returned to the animators whose shorts are selected for the show.

Fair trade, eh?

Story about Brattleboro and fair trade

25% of the profits go to the top two prize winners (chosen by audience ballot) and a second 25% is divvied out to non-winning entrants. The remaining 50% of profits are used for supplies for teaching animation in

Southern Vermont.

We keep open books for anyone who wants to see them.

The festival receives technical assistance from Free Lunch Media, of Guilford Vermont. www.freelunchmedia.com
